As part of my website revamp (and SEO overhaul), I've combined a few posts on self-publishing… and then chucked most of that out the window, and written a near 8,000 word guide to the ten steps to successful self-publishing – itself linking out to dozens of resources on every aspect of publishing a book like a pro. For those of you just starting out, there will be a lot there for you to chew through. For those merely needing specific advice on one of the step, there's a handy clickable menu at the top which will whizz you to what you need, and you can drill down on the specific recommend resources to go deeper again. And then for the older hands who are beyond needing a guide to self-publishing, perhaps I could ask you for a favor? I'd dearly appreciate some shares on this post. If you head over to the post on my site, and start scrolling down, you'll see some nifty little share buttons appear on the left for sharing to your Facebook or Twitter channels. It's a new thing I've installed and I'm curious to see how it works (and I'd love the shares as well of course). Or if you prefer, I have just posted this on my Facebook Page as well myself to make it easier for you to share. Click through on the link above and then hit that Share button (MailerLite has a Facebook post sharing block now, but it's not working very well yet IMO).
And that's it for this week – I'm bone tired after pulling all that together and (pretty much) completing the overhaul of 1.5m words of website content, thereabouts. But I do have a whole weekend of blissful… nothing lined up to recharge my batteries. See you next Friday with some list-exclusive marketing goodness. Dave P.S. Loafing music this weekend is Wilmoth Houdini with Johnny Take My Wife. |
