Your Next Post Can Be a Podcast

Ever wanted to create a podcast, but had no idea how to do it? With Jetpack Podcast in Jetpack 16.1, you can drop your audio into a post and hit publish. Boom, you’re now a podcast host.

The moment you publish, the episode shoots out to your site, to your subscribers’ inboxes through Jetpack Newsletter, and to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, the Podcast Index, and any other app that reads RSS.

New Jetpack sites can visit Jetpack → Podcast in wp-admin to set up Jetpack Podcast. Pick a category, add a show title, description, and cover art. From then on, every post with audio in that category becomes an episode. Drop the audio file into an Audio block, or use the Podcast Episode block on Growth and Complete plans for a richer player. Use the Distribution tab to submit the feed to each directory. Congrats, you have a podcast.

For current Jetpack sites, you’ll need to enable the module. Go to Jetpack → My Jetpack and flip the Podcast toggle under Growth.

Reach your listeners where they hang out

Free on every Jetpack site, you can:

Own your podcast

On closed platforms like Spotify or Substack, your show lives at their address, on their terms. With Jetpack, you own the content, the data, and the relationship with your audience.

That matters the day something changes. Companies can change the rules, raise prices, or shut down entirely. You might want to move hosts, rename the show, or switch plans. With Jetpack, your listeners stay subscribed, because the address their app follows belongs to you.

Already running a show somewhere else?

Set up Jetpack Podcast, then ask your current host to redirect your old feed to the new one on your domain. Most hosts support this, and your listeners’ apps follow the redirect automatically, so nobody has to resubscribe. Once your feed lives at your own address, you’ll never have to move your audience again.

Turning it on

On a new Jetpack install, Podcast is already active. If Jetpack was on your site before 16.1, the module is there but switched off, so:

Go to Jetpack → My Jetpack and flip the Podcast toggle under Growth.
Or go to Jetpack → Settings, find Podcast in the module list, and turn it on.
Then open Jetpack → Podcast and set up your show.
