Hi MAMAT,
Active monitoring is often the most comprehensive way to collect network data that can help operators identify cyber security threats, whether from hackers, disgruntled employees or equipment errors. Problem is, active monitoring has a reputation for being too rough on sensitive industrial networks. The traditional alternative – passive monitoring – is, well, too passive, often not getting all the information desired in a timely manner.
Read our latest blog post to learn about hybrid monitoring, or as the author calls it, "talking to the thing that talks to the thing" to avoid directly querying PLCs and other network end points:
Network Monitoring: Should you use Passive or Active Methods? Or Both?
For further insights, we also invite you to download the free white paper, Advanced Security for Industrial Networks.
Sincerely,
