Stop Asking for Email Addresses, Why Data-Driven Sales Works, & an Honest Review of HubSpot Video ...This Is THE LATEST!
Greetings and salutations from bright, scenic, sunny Chicago! ☀️
Just look at that picturesque skyline!
That's right. This week, I'm hanging out with the snowbound midwest contingent of IMPACT -- Jen Barrell and Stephanie Baiocchi -- because I'm hosting a content strategy workshop for the Chicago HUG.
But in true Liz Murphy fashion, I'm only 24 hours into this trip, and we've already got hijinx.
I've thrown water all over myself (twice), gotten my fingers slammed and locked in the trunk of a Honda Civic, been on the receiving end of a tiny dog named "Jack Bower" repeatedly trying to have his way with me while I watched The West Wing...
...and I left my phone in a car on the way to the train to commute into downtown Chicago this morning.
You'd think with all of this tomfoolery that I would be down in the dumps, but overall, I'm really happy -- I'm even embracing this idea of being unplugged from my phone for a full day.
Too often, we get swept up in useless frustrations -- those moments when something happens, and we want to lean into the "I'm a victim!" mentality.
In reality, life happens. Things go wrong. Phones get lost. Dogs will hump with reckless abandon. People won't give you their email address. Your intuition will fail you in the sales process. And HubSpot Video -- while awesome -- will have some quirks.
But it's all going to be OK.
