Read on blog or Reader Jetpack Where to start with Jetpack in ChatGPT By Stephen on October 15, 2026 The Jetpack plugin is now available in ChatGPT. It’s ready for your first prompt, but where to start? Jetpack handles the stuff that you’re probably thinking about all the time. Backups, security, and downtime alerts are important to keep an eye on. But you’re not always in the dashboard every time you want an update.  When you’re building in ChatGPT, this new plugin is going to help you accomplish more without changing tabs or disrupting your workflow. With Jetpack in ChatGPT, you can ask about your site in plain language, understand what needs attention, and decide what to do next.  Where to start Start by asking what’s working, follow up if something looks wrong, and make changes only when you’re ready. Take it for a risk-free spin with a read-only question, such as: Did my latest backup succeed, and when did it run? Easy, right?  Once you’re comfortable, ask a follow-up or try a task that changes a setting. ChatGPT works within the permissions you grant, and asks for your confirmation before making a change. You can keep managing your site without leaving ChatGPT. You can build your site from there. Or you can conduct quick checkups on your site’s health. Check your backups A backup is most useful when you know it’s running—and can spot a problem before you need to restore your site. Try asking: How much of my backup storage am I using? Can backups run on my site right now? If not, why? You can get a quick status, check your storage use, or find out what’s blocking backups without searching through settings. Look into security Ask Jetpack to run a fresh scan or help you make sense of the results. Run a new security scan and list any threats it finds. Which threats can be fixed automatically? What threats were fixed recently, and which have I ignored? These questions can help you understand what needs attention and what Jetpack may be able to fix. Review the results and choose how you want to proceed. Check your protections A quick check can help you confirm that important protections are enabled. Are downtime alerts turned on? If not, turn them on. Is account protection enabled on my site? Downtime alert settings and account protection apply to all administrators on your site. You can ask ChatGPT to turn these protections on, subject to the permissions you’ve granted. Ready to begin? Connect Jetpack to ChatGPT, review your permissions, and ask your first question.
