Hey, Today we are talking about email and I have a really cool new resource to share with you. We have a slight interruption in the series of Facebook emails – (unavoidable, sorry) – but I should be resuming service next Friday with something meaty to make up for that, and one that should appeal to both beginners and the more experienced among you. Meanwhile here's something much more exciting to chew on. Newsletter Ninja 2 Is OutEmail expert Tammi Labrecque has released the sequel to her universally acclaimed book Newsletter Ninja – which I have been dying to get my hands on. I pre-ordered it a while ago and was delighted to see it drop onto my Kindle during the week. Of course, I haven't had a chance to dive in yet with all the disruption this week, but any book by Tammi is an auto-buy for me and I know you guys are going to love it. Newsletter Ninja 2 (buy now on Amazon) is all about what is the biggest driver of mailing list growth: your reader magnet – or what Tammi calls a "cookie." I don't like calling it a cookie because that just makes me hungry. *goes to make a sandwich* Anyway, with this book Tammi will help you nail your reader magnet, for whatever kind of book you write, and show you how to deploy it to turbocharge your list. From the blurb: Newsletter Ninja 2 will help you: • Recognize the difference between a good reader magnet and a bad one • Ditch the false dichotomy of organic vs incentivized subscribers • Identify the two types of readers you want to attract, and how to lure both with one reader magnet • Build a solid plan for which reader magnets go where, and how they fit into your catalog • Discover more than a dozen types of reader magnets • Sample a variety of existing reader magnets, and see what's possible! Whether you're ready to whip up that first reader magnet or want to optimize the ones you already have, Newsletter Ninja 2 has got you covered. Why Should You Buy This Book? The author world is plagued with shady relationships and kickbacks and undisclosed affiliate nonsense, so let me be absolutely clear here. I get nothing for making this recommendation. Zip. Nada. I'm advising you to check out this book because Tammi genuinely changed my life. I think I'm pretty good at email these days and have a large and happy list. But before I encountered Tammi, I was terrible. Like… I did everything wrong. I met Tammi at a conference in 2017 – which remains our only meeting, sadly! – and could see she knew her onions. When she was launching a course on email towards the end of the year, I jumped on it straight away. (She subsequently edited a few books of mine because she really does know them onions, but that happened later on. Just FYI.) The course completely revolutionized my approach to email and led to email marketing being the biggest driver of growth for my author business – and my list is roughly 10x the size since I started implementing Tammi's ideas, which she since codified in an amazing book (the original Newsletter Ninja). It's no exaggeration to say most of what I learned about email came from Tammi… and most of the rest came from implementing those ideas over time. And now Tammi takes a deep dive into arguably the single most important thing for driving new sign-ups: having a reader magnet (or cookie!) which readers really want… and then making sure they get it. If having a large list of passionate and responsive readers sounds appealing, I recommend that you pick up Newsletter Ninja 2 from Amazon USA today. Note: it is available on all the other Amazons too of course, and will be appearing on all the other retailers also - it's just a touch delayed for the latter with just Kobo live at the time of writing. But they appear soon, as will paperback editions, if that's how you roll. And if you haven't read the original Newsletter Ninja, I recommend doing that right away. Because it is THE book on author email. Happy reading, Dave P.S. Putting out fires this week to the sound of Andre Toussaint with the majestic Perfida. |
